Who I am

I am a mental health practitioner, or psychotherapist, who has been serving the North Carolina community for several years. I have clinical experience working with individuals facing many different mental health challenges, including those who have endured trauma, those dealing with the ramifications of narcissistic abuse, and those living with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, other mood disorders, OCD, ADHD, substance use disorders, and personality disorders. I have experience working with individuals who serve or have served in the armed forces. And, of course, I also have experience working with patients with comorbid diagnoses, meaning that they deal with several different mental health challenges simultaneously.

My approach to therapy is founded on a humanistic approach. This means that I offer my patients empathy, unconditional positive regard, and acceptance. I actively practice cultural humility and seek to understand my patients’ cultures, beliefs, and life philosophies so that my feedback is tailored to their needs while respecting their individuality.

I earned my Master of Social Work degree from East Carolina University where I graduated with honors. Prior to this, I worked in the academic field for several years, though in a different discipline. I am currently a Licensed Clinical Social Work Associate (LCSWA) and a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist Associate (LCAS-A).

I do accept insurance (Aetna, BCBSNC, and MedCost at this time); I intend to become paneled with more insurers in the future, as well as Medicaid. I also see patients who choose to engage in private pay. I do work with other providers (such as medical professionals providing mental health prescriptions) provided ROI’s are requested/provided by the patient and appropriately documented.
